Working step
Working shown / next equation
Work line-by-line, like in an exercise book. Choose a working step on the left; the page shows that working on the right. Then type the next simplified equation line underneath. For example, choose subtract 12 from both sides; the working is shown, and the student writes 3x = 12. If a student divides first and creates a fractional constant, the next dropdown can offer fractional moves such as add 5/6 to both sides. The dropdown also includes plausible distractors, so students need to choose carefully. A green tick means the next equation is consistent with a correct working step; a gold tick means the final positive-integer solution has been reached.
